Older news... 18:10 05/10/2008 We had our first alpha test which totally rocked. Only a few bugs... everyone seemed to like the rail gun a lot. Very instant, very powerful. Check out the screen shots on it's own little page here: Power Complex 18:27 14/09/2008 I've been busy with other projects but I have to now test all the projectiles and hitting people, splash damage, etc. I've been scripting in PRO a lot too. This game isn't going to work unless I write some serious user-manuals to go with it! Hopefully I will get to fight someone soon and have some videos uploaded of the game in action. Grenades are looking good, you can customize the bounces and stuff! I have to code death and respawning soon, which means getting some nice maps finished. 15:41 06/08/2008 It's been a while since my last update, and much has happened. I've got all the guns working, being rockets, fans, plasma/forks, shotguns, rifles, machineguns, rail guns, and grenade launchers. I also have a really nice looking particle engine which I didn't expect. Also I've been working on the scripting system which can be a bit daunting and mindblowing, but there's a new lyn language inside the game you can write, which has if-blocks and stuff. It allows you to customize intrumentation even better. There are also remote scripts, so you can execute certain commands and change instruments depending on a situation. For example, you could make the FOV and sensivity change when it goes to the rifle :D 03:37 15/06/2008 I've been working on the MAGNA BEAMS animations. They are basically areas that will elevate you towards a certain direction, just like in hymene, apart from they're visible and can go all six ways. I tested the animations on a testing map and took a screenshot here: magna beams. Now it's time to make them actually work :p 17:55 10/06/2008 I've been working on a lot of netcode and have established fully functional services and packet streams, client server relationship, etc. It's all looking pretty good and secure too. Admin commands, remote console administration for helping noobs, joining teams, starting and stopping matches almost there. 00:15 28/05/2008 I have done the pro scripting language, which I think is worthy of a name. With it I've created my first basic dial, out of a simple overlap and a little needle. It can have all sorts of shading but I wanted it to look bland :) Check it out here. Also I made a really crap video in fraps which demonstrates a flowing motion from LAND ONE to LAND TWO (going upside-down) using bowie physics and outrun_gravity. slither1, and some others: slither2 slither3 slither4 22:13 24/05/2008 Lots of main physics is done, including BOWIE PHYSICS and SLITHERING. Fine adjustment and last minute designs on slithering (as predicted), etc. It's all feeling pretty good. Study the Pro Slither Documentation for design details. 04:01 16/05/2008 Done sprite drawing, and some sprites. Drawing the gun and local gun. More shading, looking pretty cool.
